I have to admit, I was rooting for Light for most of the series, even though he went full psycho by the end. But Near totally outsmarted him! I gotta give it to the writers—they managed to keep that tension up till the very last minute. My heart was literally racing during that warehouse scene.
But here’s the thing… was anyone else a little conflicted by the end? I mean, Light’s whole concept of "justice" was seriously messed up, but part of me wanted him to win? (Okay, don’t come at me, lol.) The way he manipulated everyone and how the whole Kira world unfolded was just genius. Seeing him lose it at the end was kinda heartbreaking, not gonna lie.
Also, Ryuk… can we talk about how he just stayed true to his word? "When the time comes, I'll be the one to write your name in the Death Note." Chills, man. CHILLS.
What did you guys think? Did Near live up to L? (Tbh, I still miss L…
