I’ll kick it off with my personal faves:
1. Gurren Lagann
Holy crap, where do I even start? This show just HYPES you up. I wasn’t expecting to get so emotionally invested in giant robots drilling through galaxies, but here we are. Simon’s growth is actually inspiring, and Kamina… absolute legend. If you’re not watching this, you’re missing out.
2. Lucky Star
Okay, so this one was a bit of a meme-fest, right? But I can't help it, it’s SO funny! Konata is basically all of us—weebs before weeb was even a word! Plus, that opening song? Gets stuck in my head every time. Who else is watching this?
3. Naruto Shippuden
I feel like Naruto has been on forever, but this year? Akatsuki!!! Seriously, the stakes are higher, Naruto’s finally growing up (thank god), and the animation is much better than before. Sasuke's return, though… still got mixed feelings on that one. What do you guys think?
4. Death Note’s Finale
OMG, what a ride! Death Note ending this year was INTENSE. I loved how it played with the whole morality vs. justice thing. That last showdown with Light… absolutely iconic. Did anyone else feel conflicted about who to root for by the end? Kinda sad it’s over.
5. Elfen Lied (Manga Finale)
Alright, this one is NOT for the faint of heart. The manga wrapped up in August and damn, it's brutal. Elfen Lied really went dark, but in a good way? I dunno, I’m still trying to process it. Anyone else read the final chapters?
6. Code Geass - Lelouch is a MASTER of manipulation
Lelouch is absolutely one of the smartest anime characters ever. This show is a rollercoaster of emotions, and I never know who to trust anymore. Watching him take on Britannia is EPIC, and I can’t wait for next season! If you like mecha with a side of mind games, this is your show.
Also, a quick reminder: please keep spoilers tagged, especially for stuff like Death Note and Elfen Lied. Not everyone’s caught up, and I don’t want to deal with rage posts about spoilers, okay?
